PROVIDER REFERRALS FOR IRON INFUSION THERAPY
JPD Wellness provides iron infusion therapy for patients with confirmed or suspected iron deficiency. Infusions are administered using Monoferric® (ferric derisomaltose) by an experienced clinician with appropriate monitoring.
Referring providers may send patients for consultation and infusion therapy when oral iron has been ineffective, poorly tolerated, or when rapid iron repletion is clinically indicated.
REFERRAL REQUIREMENTS
Please include the following with your referral:
Hemoglobin
TSAT (if available)
Ferritin
Labs within 8 weeks
If recent laboratory results are unavailable, patients may be seen for consultation and appropriate testing can be arranged.

IV IRON WE USE
Ferric Derisomaltose
JPD Wellness administers Monoferric® (ferric derisomaltose) for iron infusion therapy. The medication is dispensed through a pharmacy and must be brought to the appointment by the patient.

FEES AND COVERAGE
The clinic infusion administration fee is $175.
This fee is not covered by OHIP and in most cases is not covered by private insurance.
Patients with:
Hemoglobin <100 g/L
Ferritin <25 µg/L
may qualify for hospital-based infusion through Windsor Regional Hospital Medical Day Care.
REFERRAL PROCESS
After the referral is received, the clinic will contact the patient directly to arrange consultation and scheduling.
